Chief Information Officer

Shore United Bank is seeking a full-time Chief Information Officer to join our team. The Chief Information Officer will direct the planning and implementation of strategic and tactical information technology (IT) initiatives to ensure information technology program is relevant, highly effective and efficient, and provides exceptional operational support to the company; customer and confidential information is protected to the fullest extent possible; and the department and company are compliant with banking regulations and operating policies and procedures. As the information technology executive, direct, plan and manage IT related policies and participate in the strategic planning process; directly supervise assigned personnel; communicate with appropriate management and staff personnel, regulators, and service providers; provide periodic reports to board and management.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Develop and implement strategies supporting the company’s business plan and strategic objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement policies and procedures relative to the company and or IT department including but not limited to authorized user access, change control, information systems, incident response, and information security to ensure the department and company are compliant with banking regulations and operating policies and procedures.
  • Implement and manage an effective Support Desk function to properly support all end-users throughout the company.
  • Respond to request for information to support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.  Communicate effectively with auditors or examiners and respond to any comments, recommendations, or findings.  
  • Monitor and analyze banking industry technology trends and provide direction on emerging technology to ensure highly effective and efficient use of technology to support internal operations.
  • Manage the development of technology, including systems engineering, software design and development, acquisition of new technologies and or upgraded support systems.
  • Manage information technology systems including network communications (data, voice, video), network applications servers, and virtual desktop.
  • Manage outsourced technology providers and the company’s Vendor Management Program.
  • Manage business continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity and other technology infrastructures.
  • In association with the company’s Strategic Plan, develop an IT Strategic Plan that integrates IT systems into business strategies to optimize cost effectiveness, increase productivity and or enhance customer experience.
  • Implements strategies to ensure that the customer and confidential information are fully protected. Evaluate and implement systems to secure equipment, network and systems from unauthorized access and exfiltration.
  • Develop, administer, and control the IT operating and capital expense budget toward a cost-effective operation.
  • Promotes an environment and culture to support the company’s vision, values, and mission.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Graham-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.; ensures that the department and all personnel adhere to the same.
  • Participates in required training sessions, including training for compliance with BSA/AML policies and procedures.
  • Directly supervise and provide leadership, coaching and direction to assigned personnel:
    • Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.
    • Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
    • Reviews employee performance throughout the probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-time.
  • Exempt.
  • Days of Work: Monday-Friday.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Specialized education and training in banking information systems
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in related positions
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Valid Driver’s License

Compensation:

  • The pay range for this position is $235,000 - $321,000 annually.
  • Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
