Responsibilities

 

Peraton is seeking Junior-level Software Engineers in our Herndon, VA location to support a large software development classified program developing, operating, and maintaining mission critical enterprise capabilities. Program includes development and support for existing mission systems in parallel with effort to develop and deliver modernized cloud native, microservice-based products Team applies Agile methodology, DevOps principles and behavior and test-driven development practices.

 

Responsibilities:

• Candidate will apply agile development processes to implement features as defined by user stories
• Development using Java full stack
• Develop/maintain platform related applications and libraries
• Develop/maintain existing applications as requirements are requested and when updates are required
• Candidate will resolve database issues and in creating new features/functionality for existing databases

Qualifications

2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree

 

Required Qualifications:

• Must be willing to upgrade to a TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph - Contract requires TS/SCI with poly. 
• Strong foundational knowledge working with Java OOP development.
• Willingness to learn and become an effective team member.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• DoD IAT Lvl II Certification (ie Sec+)
• Must be local to Herndon, VA as work is on-site daily.

Desired Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience with the systems engineering life-cycle.
• Previous hands-on experience through coursework or internships. 
• Previous hands-on coding experience with Python, Angular, Postgres, and SQL.
• Experience working within Linux environments.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
