Biostatistician in the Center of Preventive Ophthalmology and Biostatistics, Department of Ophthalmology, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct appropriate statistical analysis, under the supervision of senior biostatisticians,  for applications in multicenter clinical trials, medical claims or electronic health record data, as well as single center/laboratory projects in ophthalmic research
  • Design, test, implement & document statistical computer programming in high-level statistical software packages (SAS, R)
  • Develop short-term project-specific biostatistics design and analysis plans under the supervision of faculty biostatisticians
  • Develop, document, and maintain analytic data files
  • Write summary reports and create graphs for manuscripts and proposals
  • Write and edit statistical methods sections of manuscripts
  • Develop a working knowledge of methodologic issues in ophthalmic research
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Position contignent upon funding

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or Data Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
