Are you ready to take the next step in your ODOC career? We’re excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced and motivated team member to step into the role of ADA & Grievance Coordinator, Operations and Policy Analyst 2 for the Deer Ridge Correctional Institution.
This position is a job rotation anticipated to last 12 months, though may be extended or decreased due to business need. This rotation is available for current regular status employees of the Oregon Department of Corrections, Oregon Corrections Enterprises, or Oregon Board of Parole, Probation, and Post-Prison Supervision with their current manager's approval.
About the Job – Your Role
In this role, you’ll serve as the primary Grievance Coordinator for the institution, leading investigations into AIC grievances and disciplinary appeals. You’ll write clear, fact-based responses for the Superintendent and ensure all outcomes are documented and followed through. As the ADA Coordinator, you’ll help ensure AICs receive appropriate accommodations and have equal access to programs and services, working closely with staff, leadership, and the statewide ADA team. You’ll also respond to discrimination complaints involving race, disability, or other protected categories, investigate issues thoroughly and professionally, and advise the Superintendent on potential resolutions. Lastly, you’ll participate in meetings and planning efforts to support a safe, inclusive, and compliant environment for both staff and AICs.
This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.

Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification

Working Conditions
This institution is located in Central Oregon, about three miles east of Madras, and is exposed to temperature extremes and inclement weather. DRCI buildings are climate controlled. The two facilities encompass approximately 200 acres. The estimated square footage of the minimum is approximately 185,000 SF and the medium is approximately 400,000 SF. Walking long distances to get to the workstation or perform work may be required.
Ninety-five percent of the working condition within the facility results in AIC contact with the attendant risk of being assaulted or caught up in major disturbance: May work evenings and weekends. Will serve as the focal point in issue/conflict resolutions. Travel is required for attendance at various meetings.
