The purpose of this position is to collaborate with faculty, staff, and patients to improve patients' health. The pharmacist will provide collaborative drug management services, complete medication reviews, medication reconciliations, and other clinical pharmacy services in addition to traditional dispensing services and other services as required. The pharmacist will assist medical personnel and patients with drug information. The pharmacist will help provide direction to pharmacy technicians and pharmacy students. This is a relief position and will work a variety of hours as needed.
Interprets and evaluates provider's orders and prescriptions for accuracy, completeness and appropriateness. Recognizes therapeutic problems, including drug interactions, contraindications, improper dosing and precautions of therapy and toxicities. Consults with practitioner when problems or adverse effects are identified. Appropriately reports all adverse drug reactions, drug defects and medication errors.
Prepares, labels, and controls all medications for patient use. This includes assuring proper drug storage in all areas where medications are dispensed or stored. Maintains appropriate records as required by law and hospital policy.
Participates in and advances patient centered pharmacy programs to include appointment based programs and adherence packaging.
Counsels and trains patients regarding appropriate use of their medications (i.e., purpose, actions, dosage, side effects, storage, precautions etc…)
Responsible for providing collaborative drug therapy management services (CDTM), complete medication reviews, medication reconciliation services, and other clinical pharmacy services that will help improve patient care and outcomes. Assists with devising, developing and operationalizing programs to optimize medication use and achieve continuous quality improvement.

The pharmacist will experience competing demands on their time from clinic staff and/or patients and will
need to effectively multi-task and prioritize demands. The pharmacist must deal with intense situations on a
regular basis. The expectation is to provide patients with exceptional customer service at all times.
Additionally, within the healthcare setting, there can be a significant lack of control over the workplace, with
frequent interruptions (work is often dictated by external factors) that may lead to mental fatigue or stress.
Hours: variable 8:00am-8:00pm M-F and 8:30am-1:30pm Sat
