About the Role
The VP of Product will work in close collaboration with the engineering and product teams to define and build a suite of products to provide customers with business insights for decision-making. Success in this role includes: (1) helping NewtonX evolve its offering to support new business models and customer growth; and (2) coaching/leading a high-performing Product team focused on core platform features and functionality.
The role is New York preferred but remote/hybrid is available (EST working hours)
Responsibilities
As a VP of Product, you will play a critical role in defining and executing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for NewtonX’s various products
Define NewtonX’s product strategy in partnership with engineering leadership and key business/product stakeholders
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineering, Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders, to deliver a robust and scalable portfolio of products that meet the needs of our organization
You will be responsible for understanding market trends, identifying customer requirements, and translating them into product features and enhancements
Take product ownership to deliver key insights into our business, drive future business decisions, and distribute data to key services around NewtonX
Create and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic priorities and product vision
Lead and document requirements, in the form of user stories & acceptance criteria, prioritizing the product backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies related to platforms and make recommendations for adoption or integration
Define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the platform and drive continuous improvement
Conduct product demonstrations, trainings, and presentations to internal teams, customers, and stakeholders
Act as a subject matter expert on the product suite for business insights, providing guidance and support to internal teams and customers
Play a key role in self-organizing agile delivery teams
Play a key role within the PO/PM and troikas here at NewtonX, sharing your industry best practice and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and cross-skilling
Collaborate with Engineering counterparts to ensure delivery of products on time and within budget
Build and lead a high-performing team of product managers
Foster a culture of ownership around the delivery of products
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the success of the product platform
Develop and mentor team members to ensure their growth and development
Represent NewtonX externally with strategic business partners to drive towards a shared product vision
Required Qualifications
This position requires strong communication, strategic thinking, and product management skills
Proven experience, minimum of 8 years, in Product Management, preferably in B2B companies or teams developing B2B products
Experience using reporting, data visualization, and business intelligence tools to analyze business needs and measure product success
Strong understanding of data management concepts, data engineering, data governance, and related practices
A self-starter able to work both autonomously with minimal supervision and collaboratively within an agile team
Track record of managing, developing and coaching team members and team sizes of 15+ people
Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Experience in B2B start-up environments
Experience working in Agile development methodologies
Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and facilitating stakeholder workshops (internal and external stakeholders including customers, prospects, colleagues)
Translates product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria
Drives high standards for individual accomplishment and works to meet or exceed challenging goals
High level of self-awareness displayed and good understanding of the behavior relating to the environment
Ability to constructively challenge and question as well as actively listen
