Art Lead, Generative AI

Reality Labs is currently seeking an Art Lead to join our art team to help set the vision and ensure artistic quality for a range of AI assisted and powered products. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Artists, Engineers, and other partners to drive innovation and create groundbreaking experiences. As an art lead, you will be hands-on, working with teams and production partners to influence product roadmap, define aesthetics, gain alignment and ensure results across stakeholders.


Create immersive and interactive 3D experiences that showcase the capabilities of our GenAI technology. Develop innovative designs and prototypes using various real-time engines, including AI tooling, to bring creative visions to life. Collaborate with product partners to balance technical constraints with creative vision, ensuring that experiences are both feasible and impactful. Work with PM’s to define product goals and milestones to partner with art and engineering teams to help create GenAI experiences and tooling. Define GenAI art quality standards, lead the production artwork. Coordinate creative and performance tradeoffs to deliver performant experiences at necessary quality levels, leveraging the capabilities of our in-house engine. Build product informing on-stack prototypes through code, and tooling, which will scale to larger genAI systems for our creative products.


6+ years of experience developing organic and inorganic assets in large scale real-time products Demonstrated experience of in-depth understanding of various machine learning and generative AI models, and how it empowers real-time asset creation Proven knowledge of art and visual design principles and real-time techniques relating to scalable asset pipelines In-depth experience utilizing at least two major commercial real-time engines Proficient in industry standard art tools such as Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush, or similar Demonstrated experience in procedural asset generation in real-time engines Experience collaborating closely on large scale project strategy with other disciplines Portfolio demonstrating a keen interest in games and/or VR Experience in managing ambiguity and change, be flexible with new information or goals and set a positive example through tough challenges Proven organizational skills with the experience to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines and expectations Experience leading and pitching creative projects and collaborating with leadership teams Proven leadership skills in making informed creative decisions Experience working with custom, in-house real-time engines Proven experience to balance innovation with execution and navigate complex stakeholder relationships Experience collaborating across disciplines to turn concepts into shipped products Proven experience to define and maintain art quality across multiple platforms and surfaces Experience scaling asset development through OpenUsd composition a plus Experience developing modular asset creation pipelines is a plus Real-time VR development experience
