The role: Market Launcher & BDR

You’ll be our first on-the-ground operator in a brand-new market: bootstrapping local field operations and building out our local referral engine with care providers like hospices. This dual focus will shift over time to primarily business development.

The best sales people are exceptional relationship-builders who know how to own their ‘book’ and land results. We have a partnership playbook that works, and have shaped this role as an opportunity to accelerate sales careers.

This role is focused on learning the startup market expansion ground game, and building strong partnerships with care providers, ensuring Meadow becomes their trusted referral partner. You will own relationships throughout the market, working closely with local partners to introduce Meadow to families who need our support. This is not about hard selling; it’s about building high-quality relationships in an industry full of people who care deeply but are often constrained by outdated processes.

Our objectives for the role

  • Help us launch our service in this new market: we have everything lined up, you bring it to life.

  • Grow our number of in-market referral partners.

  • Try out new ways to do it all faster and better.

What you’ll do

Phase 1 (Launch our market presence)

  • Operations:

    • Be the partner to our local partners as we’re launching working together

    • Stand up and run on the ground operations like the local mail-out workflows, inventory, and vendor coordination

    • Troubleshoot operations issues in real time

  • BD:

    • Map territory, learn key partners, and build the growth strategy

    • Drive relationships with local partner via calls/visits

Phase 2 (Scale local partner growth)

  • Manage and own your own ‘book of business’ (i.e. partners in market), turning potential partners into trusted ones.

  • Build strong relationships with care providers through in-person visits, presentations, and strategic outreach.

  • Regularly engage, train and educate care provider staff so they can confidently refer families to Meadow.

  • Provide compassionate guidance to referred families, ensuring they receive clarity and care during a difficult time.

  • Use data and HubSpot, to track performance, optimize outreach, and continuously improve your work.

  • Serve as escalation point for any local delivery or inventory issues

  • High-Agency Problem-Solver: You see gaps (process bottlenecks or pitch weak spots) and you fix them without waiting for direction.

  • Natural Relationship-Builder: You earn trust quickly, communicate well 1on1 and with groups, and turn initial conversations into long-term referrers.

  • Metric-Obsessed Doer: You live and breathe your numbers (visits scheduled, referrals converted) and you relentlessly optimize to hit them.
