Staff Software Engineer - Core Platform (Ruby/Rails)
Skills
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails development
- Experience with Javascript
- Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
- Experience with Linux infrastructure
- Skilled with Postgres databases
- Familiarity with Hotwire, Stimulus, Turbo is a plus
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to decompose and lead full SDLC
Responsibilities
- Manage technical development aspects for Portal features including UX/UI
- Lead software design, development, and architecture setting team standards
- Translate acceptance criteria into workflows, data models, and software design
- Provide architectural and technical leadership for the team
- Oversee system life cycle including evolution, configuration, and risk management
- Ensure code quality and test coverage via reviews
- Lead accurate project estimations and ensure timely delivery
- Mentor and coach junior engineers fostering professional growth
- Promote team motivation, collaboration, and engagement
- Act as a positive role model and actively engage with the team
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (implied)
