Senior Android SW Engineer
Skills
- Experience developing user interface software, particularly for high-traffic, data-intensive or map-based systems.
- Proficiency in Android programming languages including Jetpack Compose, XML, Java, and Kotlin.
- Knowledge of client/server networking protocols like TCP/UDP/Multicast, HTTP (REST), protobuf/gRPC.
- Strong user empathy with the ability to balance ideal user experience against engineering constraints.
- Ability to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy real-time, map-based Android user interfaces for sensor data interaction and EW asset control.
- Define and implement APIs for network communications, telemetry, asset and sensor control including full motion video streaming.
- Collaborate with chief engineers, product designers, program managers, and end-users to refine software architecture and UX workflows.
- Work with Android frontend technologies (Jetpack Compose, XML, Java, Kotlin) and backend languages (C++, Rust).
- Engage with the Android Tactical Assault Kit SDK and developer community for integration and development.
- Conduct software testing using simulations, hardware benchtops, and live flight assets.
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field (preferred).
