Content & Communications Director
GoodParty.org is looking for a marketing leader talented in content and communications to oversee our storytelling, messaging, and content. This role will uplevel how we engage with independent candidates — from social media, virtual events, blog posts, email campaigns, courses, and more. This is a unique opportunity to unleash a brand and narrative that will transform our democracy.
About GoodParty.org:
GoodParty.org is on a mission to make people matter more than money in our democracy by empowering independent candidates to run, win, and serve in elected office. Our AI-powered platform provides free tools to thousands of civic heroes — who are challenging the status quo as independent candidates — to run their campaigns, connect with voters, and serve their communities effectively.
A majority of eligible voters, including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. GoodParty.org is the solution. In 2024 we empowered 3,444 independent candidate wins across 48 states from all across the ideological spectrum. The only things our elected officials have in common is that they prioritize people over parties and community over corporate interests. In 2024, 40.3 million votes (26% of all voters) cast a ballot for our candidates. We’re not a political party, we’re a platform and a movement to democratize democracy.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit ($1B+ in exits, including Flipagram/TikTok and Shopzilla), GoodParty.org is building solutions so we can have a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.
What you’ll do:
Tell the story of tens of thousands of independent civic heroes who are proving what’s possible outside the two-party system through compelling, useful, and actionable content.
Develop and unify our brand, logo (red, bright and blue!), voice, and messaging across the organization — shaping storytelling that resonates, increases authority, and builds momentum for the movement.
Oversee all content — from blogs, newsletters, and social media to virtual events, courses, and community-driven campaigns. Lead and manage our social and content marketing team members and contractors who create content across platforms.
Act as executive producer for all content, turning information into cross-channel marketing campaigns that drive high engagement, value, and growth.
Serve as chief editor for all content, bringing attention to detail and high standards that uplevels our online presence and offerings.
Leverage internal subject matter experts on campaigns and public service as well as partner organizations to create engaging, useful content for candidates and elected officials.
Partner closely with the Growth department on integrated go-to-market efforts, including lead magnets, webinars, SEO content, and lifecycle communications.
Run a comprehensive content calendar that supports the full user journey from candidate discovery to running, winning, and serving.
Level up AI tools usage across marketing, communications and content creation in order to scale operation.
Use metrics and qualitative insights to optimize content strategies and increase our reach, engagement, and funnel conversion.
Report to the Chief Operating Officer.
Who we’re looking for:
You’re up for the audacious challenge of transforming our democracy for Good.
You're a clear communicator who crafts messages that resonate across channels and diverse audiences.
You’ve turned niche topics into highly engaging success stories, with a clear strategy, compelling content, and the results to prove it. You’ve been responsible for content marketing and social media before. You understand the use cases and dynamics of each channel. You are strong at owning both the strategy and the execution.
You think like a producer — leveraging content strategically across platforms, getting the best out of subject matter experts, and coordinating internal and external contributors to hit deadlines with quality.
You have a sharp eye for clear writing and strong visuals. While you might not be a designer, you know when something is off-brand and can give actionable feedback to get it on-brand.
You’re skilled at using AI tools for your work and coaching team members on how to leverage AI even more effectively while ensuring quality.
You have experience managing and mentoring a team to help each person grow while executing at a high level.
You have experience integrating a tech product, features, and offerings seamlessly into content.
You focus on what matters — the right headline, hook, and keywords to maximize discoverability across search and social.
You’ve led or collaborated closely on PR strategies and communications for proactive visibility and responsive crisis communications.
You’re organized, decisive, collaborative, and always thinking one step ahead.
You like connecting with users to surface stories and shape content that will help them. Your choices are informed by audience needs.
Bonus if:
You’ve collaborated on cross-functional campaigns with Growth Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, and/or Product teams and know how to bring alignment across surfaces.
You've got experience with tools like Circle, Descript, and HubSpot.

You’re sick of sitting on the sidelines watching our democracy fail to meet its potential.
