Job Description Summary

The Commercial Leader for Power Conversion North America is responsible for overseeing sales, business development and go-to-market strategy for a $1 billion business comprising three diverse solution groups: Energy Storage, Industrial Electrification, and Power Stability for both Equipment and Services. This position reports directly to the North American General Manager. The role has accountability for growing the top-line order intake within the organization both in terms of direct orders landed in the region but also to support globally the overall Power Conversion and Storage business where EPC’s and/or developers are located within the regions, coordinating with regional sales and commercial operations, marketing, product and project functional organizations to deliver sustainable and profitable growth.

Job Description

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business combines advanced energy conversion and storage systems to meet the electrification needs of utilities and industries. With a focus on power stability, energy storage and industrial electrification solutions, Power Conversion & Storage empowers customers by addressing their most complex electrification challenges and accelerating their transition to a sustainable, decarbonized future.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee the NAM Sales and commercial organization (direct and indirect resources) to deliver Orders, Convertibility, and Down Payment targets.
  • Align with the General Manager to define and execute the growth strategy for North America with a direct mandate to increase equipment and services orders across various industry segments, including battery storage, industrial electrification (with a significant focus on the navy market), and power stability.
  • Evaluate and reprioritize allocation of Commercial Team resources based on the strategy developed, market potential, and ability to win
  • Drive revenue and profit growth across three distinct solution groups by aligning strategic objectives with market demands.
  • Develop Commercial team competencies to enable success in new and growing markets.
  • Identify opportunities and harmonize commercial strategies for the business in conjunction with Regional Sales organization, segment business leaders, key account managers, Marketing, Application Engineering and Commercial Operations teams.
  • Provide input into the marketing and product leadership teams to enhance the value proposition for the GE PCS technologies, products and services and the associated go to market strategy for the region. 
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Implement performance management systems to ensure team members meet or exceed sales targets and professional development goals. Ensure accurate and current project and opportunity information is maintained within the CRM system and ensure compliance with the Inquiry to Order ("ITO") process.
  • Collaborate across business to improve and drive Sales and Operation Planning process and fill capacity in local and global factories.
  • Participate in and support trade shows, conferences, and other market development activities within the region, including maintaining knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base.
  • Responsible for leveraging existing talent and building the talent pipeline to meet expected targets. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline, Finance, and / or advanced business degree with applicable industry experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience leading a sales organization in the power conversion industry

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven track record of MV electrical system and solution sales and\or business development experience.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience across the key market segments, Marine, O&G, Industry, Solar and BESS.

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits. This posted is expected to expire by June 28, 2025.
