Staff Security Engineer, Threat Detection & Response
Skills
- Expertise in threat detection, incident response, or security engineering
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar automation and detection languages
- Experience with detection platforms like Splunk and EDR tools
- Hands-on knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Strong communication skills, especially under pressure
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and own detection logic and alerting pipelines across diverse data sources
- Lead investigations of high-severity security incidents and conduct postmortem reviews
- Build and maintain automation for scalable response and analysis
- Mentor security engineers on detection engineering, response workflows, and code quality
- Develop internal tools to test, tune, and improve detection capabilities
- Collaborate across teams to enhance security data coverage and context
Education
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields
