Our work depends on a Sr Software Engineer joining our team to to support a federal government program focused on migrating a complex application from one cloud environment to another. The ideal candidate will have experience with Angular, JavaScript, Java, and relational databases, along with strong knowledge of AWS cloud services. This role involves working within a NIST 800-53 moderate compliance framework and requires familiarity with secure coding practices and cloud migration (lift-and-shift) strategies.

HOW A SR SOFTWARE ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Analyze, refactor, and migrate existing applications in compliance with federal security standards (NIST 800-53, Moderate).

• Develop and maintain scalable front-end and back-end components using Angular, JavaScript, and Java.

• Participate in cloud migration (lift-and-shift) projects, moving applications and data to AWS Cloud.

• Ensure that all development activities align with ATO (Authority to Operate) requirements and security control implementations.

• Work with DevOps, security, and operations teams to integrate code into CI/CD pipelines.

• Perform secure code reviews and implement necessary remediations based on vulnerability scans or findings.

• Support system documentation for audits, reviews, and ongoing system accreditation.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience

● Required Technical Skills: Angular, JavaScript, Java, and relational databases

● Security Clearance Level: Must have or to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

● Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud migration projects, particularly lift-and-shift efforts. AWS Certification.

● Location: Remote

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
