DailyPay is embarking on an exciting new chapter: transforming into a powerful financial media network. We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Ad Operations to lead the charge in building and scaling an entirely new ad experience within our product. This is a groundbreaking role for an individual who thrives on innovation, ownership, and the opportunity to shape a nascent business into a significant revenue driver.
This strategic leader will be instrumental in turning our existing marketplace of perks and offers into a dynamic advertising platform, while also identifying and implementing new, passive monetization opportunities through impression-based ad placements throughout the DailyPay application. You will be responsible for defining the strategy, leading the implementation, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our ad server infrastructure, fundamentally changing how our users engage with financial content and opportunities.
Ad Server Implementation & Management: Own the end-to-end implementation, configuration, and ongoing operation of our chosen ad server platform. This includes technical integration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Strategic Vision & Execution: Develop and refine the overall ad operations strategy, aligning with DailyPay's business objectives to maximize revenue and user value.
Financial Media Network Build-Out: Drive the transformation of DailyPay into a financial media network by leveraging our existing marketplace and identifying new ad inventory within the app.
Monetization & Yield Optimization: Design and implement strategies for passive monetization through impression-based placements. Continuously optimize ad yield, fill rates, and eCPM across all inventory. Ensure engagements are with advertisers who meet DailyPay standards.
Campaign Management & Delivery: Oversee the successful setup, trafficking, delivery, and performance monitoring of advertising campaigns across all channels.
Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing ad operations team as the business scales. Foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Legal teams to ensure seamless ad product development, integration, and compliance.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Establish robust reporting mechanisms, analyze ad performance data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions and client strategies.
Ad Quality & Compliance: Implement and enforce strict ad quality guidelines and ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and internal policies.
Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with ad tech vendors and partners.
Marketplace Optimization: Evolve our existing perks/offers marketplace into a more robust, ad-powered platform, enhancing both user experience and monetization capabilities. Utilize the surfaces to drive adoption of first party products and third party products alike.
10+ years of progressive experience in ad operations, with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership or Director-level role, preferably within a high-growth tech company, FinTech, or digital media environment.
Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing ad server technologies (e.g., Google Ad Manager, Freewheel, Xandr, or similar enterprise-level platforms).
Deep understanding of the ad tech ecosystem, including SSPs, DSPs, DMPs, programmatic advertising, header bidding, and direct sales models.
Demonstrated ability to build an ad business or ad product from the ground up, including strategy, technical implementation, and operational execution.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, derive actionable insights, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams.
Familiarity with financial services, FinTech, or consumer apps is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
