Job Title: VoIP Unified Communications Engineer

Security Clearance: Active Secret/ TS/ Eligible to obtain
Certification: IAT II
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional with extensive experience in Network Engineering, Telephony Systems, Systems Integration, Security, Technical Support, Training, and Change Management to support our Unified Communications (UC) Voice System. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in transitioning our traditional TDM voice system to a modern UC solution, ensuring seamless integration, security, and user adoption. Understand Engineer, Furnish, Install, Test and Place (EFIT&P) UC Voice System. Installing Expressway appliances in an educational network involves setting up Cisco Expressway devices to facilitate secure and reliable communication within the network.
Key Responsibilities:
• Network Engineering: Design, implement, and optimize IP networks, SIP trucking, and VoIP technologies to support UC solutions.
• Telephony Systems: Manage and integrate traditional telephony systems with modern UC platforms, ensuring continuity and functionality.
• Systems Integration: Lead the integration of various communication systems, ensuring they work seamlessly together and meet organizational needs.
• Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the UC system, including data encryption and protection against cyber threats.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the UC system during and after the transition, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum user satisfaction.
• Training and Change Management: Develop and deliver training programs for staff, and manage the change process to ensure a smooth transition to the new UC system.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in network engineering and telephony systems.
• Strong background in systems integration and security.
• Excellent technical support skills with a focus on user satisfaction.
• Demonstrated ability to train staff and manage change effectively.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with specific UC platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Cisco Unified Communications Manager).
Preferred Certifications: Certifications in network engineering, telephony (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP).
Preferred (Required) Security certification: IAT II (Security+)
Preferred - CCNA, CCNP CISCO cert
