Principal Software Engineer
Skills
- Expertise in distributed systems architecture and management.
- Proficiency with at least one modern strongly-typed programming language (Go, TypeScript, Rust).
- Strong debugging, optimization, and failure mode analysis skills in large-scale systems.
- Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience with low-latency real-time environments and non-garbage collected languages.
Responsibilities
- Drive the reliability and performance of the R2 Storage distributed object storage system.
- Develop new features and functionality across all layers of the software stack.
- Write design documents and implement solutions from inception through release.
- Collaborate with a high-performing engineering team using multiple languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Rust, and C++.
- Maintain and optimize a large-scale distributed system with high volume traffic.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
