Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) is a global line of business at Citigroup that provides commercial banking services to mid-sized companies. The CCB Commercial Loan Product Management Vice President will join a team responsible for the management of the CCB loan product, including assessing capital allocation to Citi’s clients across the Global Commercial Bank. The VP will work closely with coverage and product teams across the globe as well as finance, risk, and institutional credit management partners to ensure that capital is allocated as effectively and efficiently as possible to promote strong revenues and returns. This opportunity provides the Vice President with exceptional exposure to senior management thought leadership focused on the enhancement of client strategy and capital optimization balanced against the backdrop of the broader CCB growth strategy.
Some of the regular responsibilities for the Commercial Loan Product Management Vice President include:
Key Responsibilities:
Organize the capital approval process for the Commercial Bank and analyze new loan and capital commitments on a risk-adjusted basis
Ensure a consistent approach to transaction and client returns presentation across global coverage deal teams
Oversee CCB submissions to senior internal balance sheet, capital, and transaction review forums
Design new digital tools and processes to support a disciplined capital management framework in the CCB
Research and review the client profitability model for the Commercial Bank
Investigate several aspects of the Commercial Bank’s business operations in depth, such as revenue generation, cost structure, funding and liquidity, assessment of cost of credit, the quantitative components of various risk and capital measures, and the calculation of client returns
Serve as an agile advisory partner with an ability to shift from a top-down portfolio focus to a bottoms-up client viewpoint
Produce technical presentations and reports for CCB and Banking senior management for discussion and analysis
Establish and maintain foundational frameworks, guidelines, and procedures
Create educational materials for a broad CCB banker audience on topics related to client returns, capital management, and loan product management
Embed capital and loan product management into daily sales disciplines and processes
Track and monitor loan product and client profitability and performance against identified targets
Stay current with the evolution of the capital landscape and assess the potential impact to CCB and its clients
Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve efficiency, control, and the client experience across the end-to-end lending platform
Partner with stakeholders to ensure CCB client and product needs are reflected in any shared platform design or tools and operations
Monitor liquidity management and limits management targets and positions
Operate in a complex environment with rapid currents of change
Support a strong risk and control environment across Citi
Knowledge and Experience:
6-10 years of experience in banking, product/loan management experience or related activities
Experience influencing cross-functional teams to define and achieve high value business goals
Broad and diverse functional experience (e.g. marketing, credit, finance, product development, analytics, technology)
Demonstrated experience driving business innovation, leveraging management information, and data analytics to drive results
Demonstrated knowledge of product development, financial acumen, and investment processes across asset classes
Ability to work independently and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Demonstrated analytical and influencing skills
Knowledge of current bank capital frameworks such as tangible common equity and Basel risk-weighted assets preferred
Strong command of CCB risk policies and commercial lending practices preferred
Familiarity with CCB risk and client relationship management systems preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree. Master’s degree preferred
High individual productivity, excellent attention to detail, and an efficient approach to project management
Quantitative mindset, inquisitive, and collaborative approach
Dedication to learn capital analysis and portfolio management concepts
High level of personal integrity and interest in building the business
Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build consensus
