Breakaway Group is a premiere entertainment and music festival multimedia company. We have the largest independent touring music festival in North America, spanning 12 cities over 9 months. With a focus on underserved markets, Breakaway is bringing a premium 2-day EDM/Pop festival experience with an always-changing lineup of top artists to where consumers live, work, and play.

THE ROLE

Breakaway Music Festival is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to serve as the Influencer Marketing Intern. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a self-starter attitude, and has a passion for music, festivals, and digital culture. Based in Los Angeles, CA (with flexibility for remote candidates), this role will report to the Influencer Marketing Manager and will support the execution of Breakaway’s influencer strategy across all festival markets.

This internship will play a key role in expanding Breakaway’s reach through influencer campaigns, assisting with influencer recruitment, post scheduling, contests, backend organization, and campaign reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, socially savvy, and eager to contribute to a fast-growing music and entertainment brand.

The Influencer Intern will work cross-departmentally with the broader marketing and promotional teams to drive visibility, engagement, and conversions across all social platforms—helping transform fans into customers, and customers into advocates. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about social media trends, creator partnerships, and making a real impact in the live events space.

Responsibilities:

  • Support strategy and execution of influencer marketing plans for brand and all national festivals collaborating closely with internal promotional and social teams.
  • Support recruitment and outreach strategy to attract and onboard new prospects while simultaneously maintaining positive and professional relationships with current micro influencers.
  • Collaborate with Influencer Marketing Manager on deal points and content contests for regional influencers
  • Support maintenance of weekly influencer updates on the marketing calendar and ensure short- and long-term planning is clear with integrated communication to internal team members, ensuring all team members are informed on upcoming initiatives.
  • Support curation of post-festival recap decks for each market with insights on content coverage.
  • Facilitate communication with teams of influencer recruiters in each festival market confirming consistent outreach and successful onboarding strategies.
  • Support organization of weekly content campaigns (Tiktok, Instagram, etc.) and posting schedules, keeping influencers engaged in brand initiatives and reporting on deliverables ensuring all reported influencers are active.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in influencer marketing with a strong understanding of social media strategy and content calendar management, excitement for new challenges, and a go-getter attitude
  • Knowledge of the music industry, surrounding events, and our Breakaway consumer/fan preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills – listens to others, works well in a team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills including written/copy editing and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Can prioritize work activities, use time efficiently, and confidently meet deadlines for quick-turn projects.
  • Adaptability – adapts to change in the work environment, manages competing demands and handle frequent changes.
  • Dependability – consistently at work when expected, follows instructions, responds to manager’s instructions.
  • Strong computer skills – including all Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays.
