TechnologyWe are seeking a visionary GenAI Architect to lead our Generative AI strategy and execution across retail and small business banking digital experiences. This role will identify and implement GenAI opportunities across internal productivity and customer-facing innovation, helping transform how we build, test, deliver, and operate digital solutions.
You will work across solution architectures and delivery pipelines, serving as a trusted advisor to the Head of Digital and a mentor to developers, designers, testers, and architects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify & Drive GenAI Opportunities: Spot efficiency and innovation opportunities across digital sales and service journeys — both internal (e.g., development, testing, content ops) and external (e.g., customer interaction, personalization).
• Strategic Architecture Leadership: Work across solution architecture teams to embed GenAI into future-state architecture patterns, platforms, and delivery models.
• Champion Developer & Tester Productivity: Evaluate and implement tools like GitHub Copilot, test case generators, documentation assistants, and UI mock-up tools to uplift team productivity.
• Prototype & Evangelize: Build PoCs and demos to showcase what’s possible with GenAI in the context of banking. Partner with product, design, and engineering to prioritize scalable solutions.
• Coach & Mentor: Educate teams on GenAI tools, risks, design patterns, prompting best practices, and responsible AI principles. Help architects and squads adopt the right tools for their domain.
• Governance & Risk Alignment: Work with security and compliance to ensure GenAI initiatives align with regulatory and responsible AI standards.
Qualifications:
• 12+ years in solution or enterprise architecture roles, with deep experience in digital transformation programs
• Proven experience with GenAI tools, LLMs, or AI-infused workflows (Copilot, GPT, Claude, internal LLMs, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of modern front-end and back-end stacks (Angular, React, Microservices)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence at senior levels
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and upskill cross-functional teams in emerging tech
• Exposure to the banking domain or regulated industries is a plus
Nice to Have:
• Familiarity with model tuning, RAG, prompt engineering, or vector databases
• Experience with content generation, chatbot workflows, UI/UX prototyping, or personalization models
• Understanding of privacy and ethical considerations around GenAI in enterprise settings

$110,000.00 - $204,100.00Pay Type:

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
