Social Media & Content Coordinator

The Social Media & Content Coordinator plays a key role in developing and executing Bethel Church’s digital communication strategy. This role is not only focused on maintaining and growing Bethel’s presence across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and beyond), but also on building a vibrant base for ongoing content creation—ranging from short-form social content to longer-form video storytelling. 

The ideal candidate is a storyteller at heart with strong creative instincts and a deep passion for the local and global church. This person thrives in collaborative environments, brings ideas to life through content, and ensures Bethel’s voice is consistently communicated across digital channels. 

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

Salary Range: $22.00 to $24.00 Per Week

 Roles & Responsibilities 

Social Media Strategy & Execution 

  • Develop and manage social media strategies for Bethel’s local and global audiences across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms. 
  • Maintain and optimize a consistent posting calendar across all channels. 
  • Coordinate with the Creative Team to produce platform-specific content (graphics, videos, stories, reels, etc.). 
  • Respond to comments and messages in a timely and engaging way (within 24 hours), fostering connection and community. 
  • Recruit and manage a volunteer team (when needed) to assist in social engagement and moderation during high-volume periods. 
  • Use data and analytics to track content performance, identify trends, and inform future content decisions 
  • Come up with new ideas, trends and engaging content for social media. 
  • Innovate and come up with new and creative ideas to engage current and future emerging social media platforms 

YouTube & Long-Form Content Development 

  • Collaborate with the Video Team to build a thriving and strategic YouTube presence. 
  • Develop and execute content plans for sermons, testimonies, behind-the-scenes, interviews, and original series. 
  • Assist with scripting, titling, tagging, thumbnails, and descriptions that align with SEO best practices and the Bethel voice. 
  • Identify opportunities for storytelling that connect Bethel’s values with compelling video content. 

Content Creation & Coordination 

  • Support ministries across the church by developing creative content that promotes events, stories, and discipleship resources. 
  • Partner with the Marketing Manager to proactively strategize around major campaigns, church initiatives, and seasonal rhythms. 
  • Coordinate content schedules and creative briefs for events before, during, and after (includes organizing shot lists, content coverage, and shared albums). 
  • Build and maintain collaborative planning tools (e.g. shared calendars, content spreadsheets, etc.) to support cross-team efforts. 

Creative Copywriting 

  • Write and edit content for digital platforms, including social media captions. 
  • Maintain consistency with Bethel’s tone, voice, and theological heart across all written content. 
  • Help uphold quality control and brand alignment across creative assets. 
  • Track themes and language expressed by Bethel’s leadership and integrate them into content planning and messaging. 
  • Collaborate with creative teams (Video, Design and Communications) to ensure content is clear, compelling, and purposeful. 
  • Proven experience managing social media accounts and content production. 
  • Strong understanding of YouTube content strategy and social platform best practices. 
  • Exceptional writing, copy editing, and content development skills. 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and creative team environment. 
  • A deep love for the local church and passion for sharing the Gospel through digital media.

  • Creative Ideation & Trend Awareness Regularly bring fresh, innovative ideas for social media content that reflect what God is doing in and through Bethel, while also staying attuned to digital trends and platform shifts. 
  • Content Creation & Visual Storytelling Ability to create compelling photo, video, and written content that communicates heart and vision clearly across platforms. 
  • Video Filming & Editing Comfortable filming with DSLR/mirrorless cameras or phones, and editing video content for YouTube, Reels, and Stories using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar. 
  • Strong Writing & Copywriting Skilled in writing for digital platforms with clarity, creativity, and brand voice consistency. Able to adapt tone for various audiences (local churchgoers, global viewers, young adults, etc.). 
  • Platform Expertise In-depth knowledge of current trends, best practices, and algorithms on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging platforms. 
  • Project Management & Organization Able to manage multiple campaigns, content calendars, and cross-departmental coordination with clarity and efficiency. 
  • Strategic Thinking Ability to think beyond individual posts and see the bigger picture—understanding how content supports overall communication goals and ministry impact. 
  • Community Engagement Skilled at building relationships online—responding to messages and comments with warmth, wisdom, and promptness. 
  • Creative Collaboration Comfortable working alongside designers, video editors, pastors, and storytellers—bringing ideas to the table and also refining them together. 
  • Basic Graphic Design (Nice to Have) Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools to create quick-turnaround social graphics if needed. 
  • Content (Video) Comfortable filming short videos using a smartphone or camera and editing them using beginner to intermediate-level tools (e.g., CapCut, iMovie, Adobe Premiere Rush, or Premiere Pro). Willing to grow in storytelling through video. 
  • Analytics & Insights Ability to interpret engagement metrics and apply learnings to improve content effectiveness and reach. 
  • Minimum Qualifications 

    • Fluent in English 
    • Strong Command of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Forms 
    • Familiarity with Content Management Systems and Email Service Platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Hubspot, ActiveCampaign) 
    • Grammatical Proficiency in AP and MLA Writing Styles 
    • Self-Starter with Drive to Exceed Expectations/Requirements 
    • Strong Editorial Skills 
    • Previous Experience Creating and Editing Content 

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Experience or Strong Familiarity with Storybrand Model Preferred 
    • Basic Knowledge of SEO Messaging Principles 
    • Familiarity with Monday.com or other project management tools. 
    • Experience in project management within a creative or marketing environment.
