Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer - Precision Mechanical
Skills
- Expertise in precision component manufacturing and outsourcing processes.
- Experience with supplier performance management and quality standards.
- Knowledge of product development methodologies including FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and GD&T.
- Analytical skills with data mining, statistical analysis (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab).
- Strong ownership mindset and project management capabilities.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements such as ITAR.
Responsibilities
- Drive supplier quality development across product development stages including design review and qualification.
- Conduct evaluations of supplier manufacturing processes for precision mechanical components.
- Partner with engineering and program teams to ensure predictable supply and manage deviations.
- Develop measurement systems and supplier qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, MSA, Audit, PFMEA, AS9102).
- Collaborate with sourcing to improve supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
- Eliminate supplier risk through audits, readiness reviews, and training.
- Define and execute technology and vendor capability roadmaps.
- Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
- Audit supplier Quality Management Systems for compliance.
- Lead supplier onsite audits and quality deliverable reviews.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field.
