- Knowledge of battery safety handling, storage, and assembly
- Hands-on fabrication and prototype building experience
- Experience with machining, casting, sheet metal, injection molding
- Ability to define and direct testing and analysis
- Component and structural/mechanical system design experience
- Ability to influence and build relationships
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Own hardware design from concept generation through production release
- Design with customer safety, reliability, and ease of use in mind
- Use physics principles and data-driven decision making
- Lead design reviews and run engineering analysis
- Visit vendors and define hardware test plans
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition projects to production
- Travel to test sites as necessary
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
