Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Quantum Test Operations Manager 2 to support our growing thermal engineering team in advanced technology development programs.

What You'll Get To Do:

This is a dual-role technical manager position including people management and direct program leadership contribution. The split between program and functional duties will be approximately 80% program and 20% functional, on average. The direct program work may include technical work in the form of quantum test execution, test support, operations management, and test throughput optimization.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Supporting a team of 10-15 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.
• Improves test process lifecycle for the team by facilitating communication between test and other support organizations and defining test objectives and exit criteria
• Capturing and optimizing test throughput metrics, focused on ensuring the teams have all the support material they need to execute effectively
• Being accountable to stakeholders and program managers for status updates, issue resolution, and overall engineering execution.
• Providing technical leadership to the team and ensuring proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.
• Working with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls, developing appropriate technical training, and improving team performance.

This position requires work on site at Northrop Grumman’s Baltimore, MD area facilities in Linthicum or Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master of Science degree in STEM related field with 6+ years of relevant technical experience; PhD in STEM related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in test labs through operations or test execution
• Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance per customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader.
• Experience with cryogenic and superconducting device test protocols and methods
• Experience as a technical lead supporting test efforts and staff across multiple test stands
• Experience managing large data sets
• Experience with inventory management and tracking tools
• CAM/EV experience
• Active U.S. government security clearance.

Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
