Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $100,000 to $125,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.We are seeking a talented and passionate Front-End Engineer to join our dynamic team in the data analytics department of hockey operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web application design and development. As the Front-End Engineer you will work closely with our stakeholders to build and maintain high-quality web applications for Hockey Operations. Working within the hockey analytics team you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact and drive innovation for the Anaheim Ducks. As a member of the Hockey Operations team, the Front-End Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining the user-facing part of websites and web applications for the Anaheim Ducks. This position will work closely with our design and back-end teams to build and maintain high-quality web applications and a seamless user experience.
Responsibilities
Create, deploy and iterate on a new web application to support management decisions for the hockey operations department
Collaborate closely with our data engineer and data scientist to reimagine existing visualizations and create new ones that are responsive, intuitive and visually appealing
Deliver high quality web application code while implementing best practices for architecture, design, coding standards & CI/CD
Use the Azure cloud to deploy and host the application
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
Education: Degree in Computer Science or related field
Proficiency in Front-End Technologies: Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a front-end engineer working with JavaScript (preferably TypeScript), CSS and HTML
Experience with Frameworks/Libraries: Experience with front-end frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
Understanding of Responsive Design: Ability to create responsive designs that work across various devices
Familiarity with Version Control Systems: Experience with Git and platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a love for technical challenges
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of hockey: Knowledge of hockey is key to communicating effectively with those outside the department
Knowledge of Python: Experience writing production-grade code in Python
Experience with CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes
