QA Validation Engineer

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and self-starting Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to become the first dedicated QA hire on our team. In this foundational, high-impact role, you’ll be responsible for designing and leading QA strategies that ensure the reliability and performance of both our Salesforce platform and custom-built applications.

You’ll partner closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to embed quality at every stage of our development lifecycle—establishing best practices, automating testing pipelines, and ensuring scalable test coverage across web, API, and integration layers. Key Responsibilities

Design, write, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.

Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for web and API-based applications.

Identify, log, and track bugs using test and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, TestRail).

Build and extend test automation frameworks using tools like Cypress or Playwright.

Validate custom applications, including React-based frontends and RESTful APIs.

Conduct thorough API testing with Postman; validate authentication workflows (e.g., JWT, OAuth).

Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure QA is tightly integrated with Agile/Scrum workflows.

Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.

Continuously research and adopt QA tools and best practices to improve coverage and efficiency.

Drive continuous integration and test automation via CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

Ensure products meet compliance, security, performance, and accessibility standards.

Provide clear and actionable QA metrics and reports to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in QA and test automation, preferably within JavaScript ecosystems.
• Expertise in both manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with tools like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, TestNG, JUnit.
• Solid JavaScript and/or Python scripting skills.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, and experience testing them with Postman or similar tools.
• Familiarity with authentication protocols (JWT, OAuth).
• Experience integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Proficient with test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, Jira).
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Familiarity with Storybook for UI component validation.
• Understanding of accessibility and security testing standards.
• Experience working in AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
• Experience testing Salesforce applications; Salesforce certifications are a strong plus.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• ISTQB CTFL certification is strongly preferred (or equivalent demonstrable expertise).
• Bonus credentials: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Cypress/Playwright badges.
