Position Description:

The University of Louisville Contract Administration and Procurement Services Office is inviting applicants to apply for the Contract Specialist II position. This position offers part time remote work option after 6 months of service.

The primary job duties will include managing supplier contracts, conducting vendor reviews including spend analysis and supplier compliance to contractual terms and conditions, and audits as necessary. Develop contractor base.  Identify departmental and University need for commodity contractual requirement.  Compose bids, sole sources, agreements and Memorandum of Agreements.  Serve as the department liaison between Procurement Services and outside entities.  Provide assistance on special projects.  Review existing state statutes and proposed revisions and advise of potential effects on existing operations.  Review/edit requisitions, purchase orders and approve all transactions for assigned commodities in Workday.  Assist in software upgrades and e-procurement implementation.  Represent the department/university conducting meetings in a professional, honest and ethical manner.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will communicate effectively, demonstrative analytical problem solving, have purchasing experience, to include knowledge of Kentucky Model Procurement Code.  Have the ability to negotiate issues and have experience with PeopleSoft, Workday and OnBase.  The candidate will also be comfortable interacting with a diverse group of constituents and maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.  Have a positive, flexible attitude and the ability to provide the highest level of customer service.  Proven self-starter with the ability to work under minimal direction and oversight as well as utilize critical thinking to make informed decisions and bring suggestions for improvement to management.  The desire to work within a team environment are essential qualities necessary to be successful in this position.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$98,100.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$65,400.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
