Job Description
Functioning under moderate supervision, performs a variety of patient care, technical and clerical activities and assumed additional responsibilities. This position is responsible for gathering all pertinent demographical and insurance information from the patient. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring gathered information is entered accurately and expeditiously into the computerized system. You must have the ability to be cross trained to cover various areas of registrations and areas within the radiology department.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates the ability to proficiently operate a personal computer.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrates ability to write legibly and perform basic mathematical functions.
- Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and meet deadlines is required.
- Ability to work in a Multi-task environment.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
- Ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of patients and confidentiality of the hospital and departmental documents.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year experience in Medical office or hospital setting required.
Experience with a personal computer in a windows environment required.
Medical posting/scheduling experience preferred.
Medical Terminology required within 6 months of employment and CHAA certification required within 1 year of employment.
Current work experience requiring interacting with customers.
