Engineering Duty Officers ensure that U.S. Naval and Joint Forces operate and fight with the most capable vessels, systems, and equipment. Utilizing math, science, and business management skills, they improve warfighting capabilities and maintain a strong cybersecurity network. Responsibilities include research on operational needs, designing new ships, integrating weapons and electronic systems, supporting space and weapon systems, managing fleet construction and maintenance, executing technical fleet operations, and overseeing diving and salvage operations.
