The Associate Director of Digital Trust at UMBC will lead cybersecurity policy initiatives and oversee the Cyber Range and Cybersecurity Clinic, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and enhancing the university's security posture.
Responsibilities: Monitor legislative changes in cybersecurity, develop privacy governance programs, manage the Cyber Clinic and Cyber Range, and support campus security training initiatives.

Qualifications: A Master's degree related to cybersecurity and at least three years of relevant experience; a terminal degree or related certifications are preferred.
Location: This position is located in the USA with the option for a hybrid telework schedule.
Compensation: $100000 - $110000 / Annually
Department: The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) has approximately 85 full time staff members and 100 undergraduate or graduate students that work each day to support the mission of UMBC through the delivery of IT services to the campus. DoIT provides robust, secure IT environments that enable solutions for advancing the UMBC community. We do this through a staff of technology professionals that are connected both nationally and to UMBC.
Position Overview: The Associate Director of Digital Trust will play a key role in supporting UMBC's Information Security program by monitoring the legislative and regulatory landscape and providing policy advice and recommendations on cybersecurity, privacy, artificial intelligence (AI), and other emerging technologies. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strategies and plans that align with relevant legislation and regulations and support the University's Digital Trust initiatives, such as the continuing development of our privacy program.
Additionally, the position will serve as the Associate Director and program manager for UMBC's Cyber Range and Cybersecurity Clinic in association with the UMBC Cybersecurity Institute and the Maryland Institute for Innovative Computing (MIIC). In this capacity, the incumbent will lead, coordinate, and ensure the overall success of these programs, including communicating program details and maintaining alignment with organizational priorities. While this effort will be coordinated through the Division of Information Technology, the expected candidate will work closely with faculty associated with the UMBC Cybersecurity Institute.
