Our teams have a strong focus on equity, access, and student-centered learning. Using the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) platform, this role combines strategic program leadership, team coaching, intern mentorship and overall collaboration to support success for all team members and staff.

Our Coach and Program Manager will ensure high-quality robotics experiences for youth while guiding teams toward competitive success. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of STEM education, coaching, project management and community-based programming.

  • Maintaining all require registration details with the FIRST league including timely registration for competitions
  • Maintain registration, attendance and parent relationship record
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Communications, Resource Development, and STEM Education) to support program promotion, recruitment, and fundraising/sponsorship efforts.
  • Lead program planning and implement a vision for a high-impact elementary robotics program grounded in equity and inclusion.
  • Run tryouts and select student team members based on a structured rubric (up to 10 per team).
  • Facilitate and supervise twice-weekly team practices, creating an inclusive environment for students to build robotics, coding, and teamwork skills.
  • Serve as lead coach at all registered competitions; manage event logistics and represent the program externally.
  • Supervise and mentor interns or co-facilitators, completing mid- and end-season performance reviews.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding team expectations, schedules, behavior, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with FIRST LEGO League regulations including registration, background checks, and competition guidelines.
  • Maintain organized records of student attendance, competition outcomes, equipment use, and family engagement.
  • Manage packing, materials, and program close-out responsibilities at season's end.

Work Environment

  • This is a seasonal, part-time role that averages 6–12 hours/week, with higher demands during competition season.
  • Flexible scheduling required with an emphasis on afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.
  • Office based in downtown Mamaroneck, walkable from Metro-North, shops, and cafes.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with a team that values creativity, humor, and social impact.

What We Offer

  • A leadership role with real impact on youth, education, and equity in STEM.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and program design.
  • A supportive, community-centered workplace with a strong culture of empathy and inclusion.
  • Opportunities for professional development and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Banking benefits through our community partner.
