Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Emergency Services to lead a high-performing Emergency Department team. This full-time leadership role will focus on service excellence, departmental growth, personnel development, and efficient resource management. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in emergency nursing leadership within a large acute care setting and a proven ability to improve departmental performance and patient experience.
Oversee the Emergency Department, ensuring high standards of patient care and operational efficiency
Mentor and coach nursing staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
Develop and monitor emergency services programs to meet regulatory and quality standards
Lead initiatives to enhance patient experience, including staff and patient rounding
Analyze departmental challenges and implement operational improvements
Collaborate with hospital leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals
Qualifications
Experience:
3–5 years of recent experience as a Director in a large acute care Emergency Department
Demonstrated success in improving key performance metrics, mentoring staff, and achieving operational goals
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Active RN license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida
BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC certifications required

34-bed department
Daily patient volume: approximately 130
Staff: ~45 Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs)
Trauma Level: Non-trauma facility
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $115,000–$145,000 per year (based on experience)
Annual Bonus: 15% performance-based Director bonus
