• You’re a strong communicator who knows how to translate complex, technical information for non-technical audiences by skillfully using a range of communication tools.
• You bring a thoughtful perspective on how information should be structured and presented to effectively reach a specific audience.
• You communicate information clearly and simply in a way that keeps your audience engaged.
• You have a perspective on when and how to communicate uncertainty. Our materials often need to stand on their own, since our customers are usually the ones sharing insights within their organizations. That makes it essential to surface uncertainty clearly, because if we don’t, it’s likely to fade with each retelling.
• You understand that delivering the results from research is fundamentally about designing a communication arc that reflects when, how, and why insights land. 
• You know when to lead with methods and when to let them recede. 
• You’re attentive to pacing: when to spotlight a result, when to let an idea sit, and when to return to reinforce it. 
• You bring judgment to format choices (words, tables, charts), tone, and timing to make dense technical information clear and impactful.

• In this role, you will shape how we share our research with our customers. You will work with our research team to understand the conclusions of our research and then take lead on how those conclusions are communicated to our customers. Sometimes you’ll be communicating in slide decks, sometimes in memo, but always focused on identifying essential information and clearly communicating it to our customers. You will have a hand in the whole communication process. You will choose what to highlight, how to organize the information, and how to make it clear and memorable. Your work will turn complex ideas into clear, persuasive messages that stick with our customers. We expect employees to work together in person and come to our Chicago office regularly. • Create comprehensible materials that translate research into clear guidance for our customers. 
• Implement data visualizations that clearly communicate our research to our customers.
• Build visual systems and templates to streamline client deliverables.
• Collaborate with our researchers to understand the conclusions of our research and develop a strategy to effectively communicate it to our customers. 
• Adapt technical analyses into polished, executive-ready presentations and iterate quickly based on customer feedback.

• First and foremost this position requires excellent communication skills.
• We deliver dense technical material to our customers, but pride ourselves on making it accessible and comprehensible. 
• 1-2 years of experience creating presentations that communicate technical information to a largely non-technical audience. 
• Expert level proficiency in presentation software (PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc.) and an eye for detail and clear visual communication.
• Experience with data visualization tools and interpreting quantitative data.
• Interest in politics, campaigns, or public policy.

• A strong point of view on Tufte’s work ;)
• Proficiency with data visualization in Python.
• Familiarity with survey research methods and basic statistical concepts around uncertainty.
• Background in polling, campaigns, or political communications.
• Experience creating materials for non-technical audiences. 
• To be explicit, you don't need a degree to work here. You just need to be excellent at transforming data into stories that drive decisions.
