Syntegon Packaging Technology, LLC in New Richmond, Wisconsin is part of the Syntegon group and offers a wide range of packaging equipment. The city of New Richmond is known as "The City Beautiful". It is an easy and quick commute in both directions from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area and a short distance from Eau Claire, WI.

The raw material buyer is responsible for procuring the materials needed for production. This involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory and ensuring a continuous supply of materials while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.  This is a remote position with approximately 25% domestic travel required.

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, build long-term partnerships, and manage supplier performance through reporting on delivery metrics and responsiveness.
• Negotiating favorable pricing, terms and lead times with suppliers while maintaining quality and supply continuity.
• Place purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure materials meet quality and delivery standards while collaborating with production and planning teams to maintain a smooth flow of materials.
• Maintains integrity of certified material traceability.
• Responsible for quality defect management with supplier returns and credits in coordination with PUQ.
• Responsible for local cost-saving initiatives for drawing parts and supplier performance improvements; collaborate with Central Purchasing on strategic projects to enhance supplier performance, delivery, and cost efficiency.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business and/or equal value in work experience
• 5+ years in supply chain in a fast-paced manufacturing related environment
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing principles and techniques, with the ability to read and comprehend basic technical and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management and inventory control.
• Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of production and processing inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing their manufacture of goods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to understand mechanical manufacturing designs and controls for purchasing parts.
• Experience with SAP in manufacturing environment
• Previous experience procurement methodologies
• Hands-on operator, works with minimal supervision and able to develop and pursue processes/projects/tasks through to successful conclusion
• Ability to think strategically to new ideas of improved procurement planning to drive success
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers for basic pricing/stocking agreements and performance improvements.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $95,000 - 115,000 annually. 

Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
