Reporting to the Americas Director of HSE, the Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for activities related to monitoring, administering, evaluating and coordinating field service health and safety programs to enhance safe workplace and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies.
Essential functions - Job duties to include but are not limited to:
Work environment is typically considered within a Smiths location during normal or extended business hours to include offices, manufacturing plants and repair facilities. Work environment may also include customer sites including oil well sites, and meeting venues. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and approved PPE is required when on the factory floor.
Years of Experience: 5 or more years’ HSE experience required required supporting company environmental and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Education Level: Bachelor’s degree. Relevant experience in lieu of degree considered. Professional certification, specifically OSHA General Industry Certification (30 hours) preferred.

Background: This position requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting via the TSA. Applicant must successfully pass a federal background investigation.

The compensation for this position ranges from $56,400.00 - $131,600.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions. Smiths Detection provides comprehensive benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
