Make a Difference Every Day as a Rehabilitation Counselor!

 

As a Rehabilitation Counselor, you’ll take the lead in providing daily services and support to individuals served, ensuring their well-being and progress. With your expertise in crisis de-escalation and strong interpersonal skills, you’ll guide not only those in need but also collaborate with your team and other departments.

 

Your role is pivotal in fostering a compassionate and safe environment, empowering individuals to achieve their goals and thrive. If you’re ready to make an impact and support individuals through their journey, this is the perfect role for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolution of ComplaintsEnsures the resolution of individual served complaints when unresolved at lower levels, addressing concerns promptly.

  • Mental Health InterventionsProvides services aimed at reducing symptoms and behaviors associated with a mental health disability, supporting recovery and progress.

  • Promote Success and Skill DevelopmentAssists individuals in educational, work skills, sobriety, and other areas related to their diagnosis, helping them achieve independence and prevent more restrictive situations.

  • Document Symptoms and InterventionsDocuments identifying symptoms, behaviors, and interventions aimed at assisting individuals with their specific needs, ensuring thorough and accurate records.

  • Community Reintegration SupportAssists individuals in gaining skills necessary for community reintegration, including social skills, communication, ADLs, and coping strategies for successful behavior in society.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Sciences, or related field.

Experience:

  • Required: Two (2) years’ experience working in an acute, long-term and/ or residential mental health setting. Population experience must include those experiencing psychosis or severe mood dysregulation.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Preferred: Possession of a valid driver’s license as the position may require driving company vehicles.
