The Server Administrator is a dual-role position responsible for both maintaining a secure, high-performing Windows server infrastructure and supporting critical business applications across PS Logistics. This role combines hands-on expertise in system administration—spanning Active Directory, Office 365, RDS, VMware, and Nutanix—with a proactive mindset toward learning and sustaining enterprise software platforms used by the business. The Server Administrator is equally accountable for supporting platforms like McLeod LoadMaster, DocumentPower, Digital Cabinet, and other line-of-business (LOB) systems that are essential to transportation, HR, and operations. This position plays a key part in backup and disaster recovery (Veeam/Zerto), security patching (CVE remediation), privileged access management, and Tier 3 escalation support. The ideal candidate brings deep Windows management experience, a willingness to master the business tools that keep the company running, and the curiosity to bridge technical systems with end-user needs.
• Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure, including installation, patching, resource optimization, and incident response.
• Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD in a hybrid environment, including group policy, identity synchronization, and user provisioning.
• Oversee Office 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, licensing, and Entra integrations.
• Administer and support a high-availability Remote Desktop Services (RDS) Farm to deliver critical apps to remote and internal users.
• Proactively monitor system health, performance, and alerts to ensure reliability and security.
• Implement and manage CVE-based patching using tools like Action1 and ManageEngine Endpoint Central.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations using Veeam and Zerto, ensuring preparedness and documentation.
• Support and maintain key line-of-business applications, for example:
o McLeod LoadMaster (TMS)
o DocumentPower (document management)
o Digital Cabinet (HR records)
o XM Fax, PrinterLogic, and other departmental platforms
• Learn and manage new enterprise software tools as needed, ensuring smooth daily operations and collaboration with business users.
• Administer IT support tools such as Secret Server (Delinea PAM) for secure access and credential management.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business teams on projects, upgrades, and system integrations.
• Provide Tier 3 support for escalated technical issues, particularly those involving infrastructure, authentication, or core systems.
• Maintain detailed documentation for system builds, application configurations, DR planning, and operational procedures.
• 3–5 years of experience in Windows system administration, infrastructure operations, or enterprise application support.
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, Azure AD, VMware, and Nutanix.
• Strong working knowledge of RDS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, file shares, and server resource optimization.
• Experience supporting business applications and working directly with users to understand requirements and ensure availability.
• Familiarity with backup and DR tools (Veeam, Zerto), patching systems (Action1, ManageEngine), and privileged access tools (Secret Server).
• Ability to learn and support platforms such as McLeod LoadMaster, DocumentPower, and Digital Cabinet is essential.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, MCSA, VMware VCP, or CompTIA Security+ preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
