Mid-level Data Scientist

Responsibilities

Peraton is currently seeking an experienced Mid-level Data Scientist with a data engineering or computer science background to provide support to the JDPAC team.

 

Location: Scott AFB, Illinois. Flexible for occasional telework – must be local to work location/able to come on-site as needed. 

 

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Design and implement business intelligence dashboards powered by advanced data science algorithms, including predictive analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other data science methods.
• Develop and maintain a robust data foundation to ensure the availability of on-demand, analysis-ready human capital data.
• Analyze data to identify trends and relationships.
• Map and analyze data across secure and non-classified defense networks.
• Continuously improve existing tools, making them faster, more effective, accurate, and efficient.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration among users, subject matter experts, and leadership.
• Provide insight and expertise to the team when developing processes to manage the lifecycle of data science tools.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technology trends.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Masters and 3 years, or PhD with 0 years. 
• Experience with development and implementation of enterprise-level data science solutions.
• Experience creating dashboards and business intelligence tools.
• Demonstrated creative thinker with a mission-minded focus.
• Possess a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to persist in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (interim clearance required to commence task work).

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Palantir Foundry.
• Familiarity with USTRANSCOM processes and systems.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
