Linux Systems Administrator - job 1 of 4

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join us as an integral member of the Peraton Labs - Cyber Systems and Cyber Mission Sector team in support of Peraton Labs research at our customer site.

 

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
• Managing the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
• Providing assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
• Providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc
• Providing support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
• Optimizing system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline and five (5) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree (for a total of ten (10) years of experience)
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems administration
• Experience with automation via Python and/or Bash scripting
• Active/Current TS/SCI with Polygraph is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills required to work as part of an integrated team consisting of the customer, subcontractors, and other Peraton personnel
• Solid understanding of modern computer network operations and capability development processes
• Solid understanding of the basic principles of modern computer networking, including hardware, software, associated tools, protocols, and Internet architecture
• Experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships in all levels of the organization
• Experience with operational mission partners in the DoD
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies, such as OpenStack, Hadoop, and Cloudera
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services platforms and solutions

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
