The John Glenn College of Public Affairs is a leading public affairs college that conducts rigorous academic research and translates and applies that research for public, nonprofit, and private partners. Public safety is a growing area of expertise within the college with multiple faculty and students involved in criminal justice research projects, and an array of technical assistance and training partnerships with criminal justice organizations.
The Public Safety Research Analyst will collaborate with a public safety research team that includes a Senior Research Scientist, Research Scientist, Public Safety Research Administrator, and Glenn College faculty, students, and staff members to carry out the team’s research priorities. The Data Science Specialist provides skills in data science, data management, statistics, and criminal justice administration. Under the supervision of senior researchers, the core responsibilities of the Data Science Specialist are data management, quality assurance, and standardization; data analysis and visualization; and data documentation. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in utilizing various data sources to contribute valuable insights to public safety research projects.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, data science, public administration, public policy, or other relevant field. 0 years of relevant experience required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in relevant field is preferred. 2 years of relevant experience with law enforcement data management and collaborating with public safety stakeholders. Understanding of a wide range of policing and public safety issues. Knowledge of Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and human subject protections.

This is a 100% grant-funded, one-year position, renewable for up to three years based on funding and performance.

Salary range: $58,700 – $77,200. The salary for this position will be determined by internal equity, budget, and the candidate’s education and experience.
