Senior Account Executive

Summary:

MediaNews Group's EAST team in Suburban Detroit is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our awesome team! Unique in the industry our EAST team services major/national accounts in multiple markets including: MI, OH, PA, NY, MA, and CT. The Senior Account Executive’s primary responsibility is to consult with new and existing Major Retail and National customers on behalf of all of the EAST MediaNews Group markets.

In addition to our print products, we are a client-centric digital organization that brings unmatched scale, precision, and sophistication to digital marketing through our in-house digital agency, Adtaxi (www.adtaxi.com)

What you will do:

  • Proactively prospect, qualify, grow and maintain all sales activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned existing account base

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of or willingness to learn our digital product portfolio

  • Demonstrate knowledge to overcome customer objectives

  • Develop prospecting leads using a variety of sources, including digital, radio, TV and direct mail

  • Understand how the competition sells their products and services, including rates, and specials

  • Create marketing presentations and update as needed

  • Create proposals while working with the client’s budget and also looking for growth opportunities in all markets

  • Work as a leader of the sales and support teams to ensure accuracy and client satisfaction


What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or proven industry sales experience preferred but not required

  • Some knowledge of digital advertising and working with major national agencies are a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drives office suite

  • Strong time management and creative skills

  • Aggressive and relentless in prospecting for new business and skilled at needs assessment-based selling

  • Consistent in follow up and commitments to prospects and customers
