This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

This global, leadership position will be based in Northridge, CA, part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. 

The Opportunity

As Medtronic’s Diabetes business prepares to become a standalone public company, we are building a high-performance finance organization to support our next phase of growth and innovation. We are seeking a dynamic Director of Treasury to lead the development and management of global treasury operations in this pivotal moment of transformation.


Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will architect and execute the treasury strategy for the newly independent company—ensuring financial stability, global liquidity, and proactive risk management across North America, Europe, and Asia. This is a rare opportunity to build a treasury function from the ground up within a fast-growing, mission-driven organization at the intersection of MedTech innovation and advanced manufacturing.

As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will oversee global cash flow, financial risk, capital structure planning, and banking relationships—serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership while enabling operational scale and long-term value creation.

This global, leadership position will be based in Northridge, CA, part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. 

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

•    Design and implement global treasury strategies, policies, and processes to support the organization’s financial independence, operational scale, and growth objectives.
•    Lead global cash flow forecasting and liquidity management, ensuring the company maintains sufficient funding for operations, investments, and strategic initiatives.
•    Optimize working capital and partner cross-functionally to align treasury strategy with supply chain, commercial, and tax planning goals.
•    Build and maintain strong banking relationships, negotiating competitive financial services agreements and ensuring diversified access to capital and credit facilities.
•    Develop and execute financial risk management strategies, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and counterparty credit risk.
•    Define the company’s capital structure strategy, supporting long-term innovation and growth through prudent debt, equity, and financing decisions.
•    Drive transformation initiatives to simplify and standardize treasury operations, ensuring scalability and efficiency in processes and systems.
•    Establish foundational infrastructure for a standalone company, including the setup of treasury tools, workflows, and reporting frameworks to support public company readiness.
•    Oversee investment and short-term cash management activities, balancing yield optimization with liquidity and risk tolerance.
•    Ensure compliance with all internal controls, treasury policies, and global regulatory requirements.
•    Build and lead a high-performing global treasury team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
•    Drive transformation initiatives to simplify and standardize treasury operations, ensuring scalability and efficiency in processes and systems.
•    Establish foundational infrastructure for a standalone company, including the setup of treasury tools, workflows, and reporting frameworks to support public company readiness.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
•    10+ years of progressive treasury or corporate finance experience (or 8+ with an advanced degree), including 7+ years of managerial experience.

Nice to Have: Preferred Requirements

•    MBA or CFA designation.
•    Proven expertise in global cash management, liquidity planning, and financial risk mitigation across multiple regions.
•    Deep knowledge of capital markets, banking systems, and treasury technologies, with experience in multinational financial environments.
•    Experience in a public company environment, ideally in healthcare, MedTech, or high-tech manufacturing sectors.
•    Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to lead through ambiguity and complexity.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trust and influence across executive leadership, functional stakeholders, and external partners.
•    Demonstrated success in building or transforming treasury functions within a standalone or high-growth business, with a clear understanding of public company readiness and regulatory requirements.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$178,400.00 - $267,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
