Job Description

The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing will support the Strategic Sourcing Leader in developing and executing Category Sourcing Strategy within MasterBrand. Using the tools and processes in place, they will act as a project manager, ensuring project progression that deliver continuous value to MasterBrand and are well communicated both internally and externally to support execution of the vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Strategic Sourcing Leader in leveraging the MasterBrand Strategic Sourcing Process and Approval standard to generate approved category strategies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders, as well as suppliers, to drive best total cost sourcing strategies, assessing various factors beyond cost and quality.
  • Assist Strategic Sourcing Leader in evaluating and managing supplier partnerships to achieve business objectives effectively. 
  • Provide support or lead efforts to ensure strategies are consistently updated to reflect the latest internal / external environment.
  • Support the Strategic Sourcing Leader to ensure strategies, projects, RFIs, RFQs and associated analysis, etc. are delivered on time and prioritized to best meet needs of the company given supplier capabilities and market status.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and capabilities to support the Strategic Lead in developing solutions that meet the consumers’ needs by leveraging cost, service, product development, quality and risk management. Ensure data is fact-based so that internal and external vendors can utilize high value analytics to drive their decisions for performance enhancements.
  • Be a key contributor of change management process for product development costing process.
  • Drive the use of new and existing supply market data sources in conjunction with best practices to improve current and long-term operational performance.  Lead the development and execution of a long-term strategy to collect, store and utilize data related to our supply chains.
  • Provide support to ensure that stakeholders, team members, and suppliers are in compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Effectively prioritize and problem solve various business needs as identified or directed by Strategic Sourcing Leader.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Business or related field required.  MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain or a related field.
  • Experience in South America culture and markets preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skillset.
  • Curious and possessing vision, ability to balance long-term actions with short-term needs.
  • Highly motivated with desire to continuously look at how to unlock value in our categories.
  • Total cost focus incorporating all aspects of value into decision making (cost, quality, performance, risk mitigation, etc.).
  • Strong negotiation skills and comfortable interacting with internal stakeholders and suppliers at various levels and regions. Proven track record with successful negotiation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to develop strong knowledge of categories; including understanding of cultural, legal, and geopolitical environment in region doing business.
