Position: Opto-Mechanical Engineer – Semiconductor R&D
Location: San Jose, CA
Compensation: $160,000–$200,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits + Paid Relocation

What You’ll Do
- Design & Develop: Define, prototype, and launch advanced opto-mechanical systems for our new metrology platform.
- Innovate: Research emerging technologies and translate high-level ideas into practical, high-impact solutions.
- Lead Technical Direction: Make critical design decisions that shape product architecture and deliver measurable customer value.
- Integrate Systems: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring together lasers, polarizing optics, fiber optics, precision mechanics, and electronics.
- Optimize Manufacturing: Define tooling and processes to support volume production alongside product development.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in precision mechanical design and product development
- Track record of moving designs from concept to volume production
- Expertise in at least one of: kinematic design, precision optics, vacuum systems, adhesives, or high-precision machining
- Strong skills with CAD and FEA tools (preferably Siemens NX and ANSYS)
- Self-driven and organized, with a history of delivering on schedule
- Excellent communicator and collaborator across technical and business teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with opto-mechanical systems such as lasers, interferometers, or collimators
- Familiarity with optical design and ray tracing software (Zemax, FRED, or equivalent)
- Background in semiconductor capital equipment or precision motion control
