Senior Project Manager - Cryogenic Pipeline Systems #1508

ur client is a globally recognized organization that has specialized in advanced insulated cryogenic pipeline infrastructure for energy transportation since 1992. They lead the market in developing and producing innovative pipe-in-pipe technologies for the petroleum and gas sector, with expanding applications in next-generation energy transition solutions such as liquid hydrogen, ammonia, and CO₂ systems.

This internationally acclaimed company operates at the cutting edge of their specialized field, engaging in research and development initiatives, equipment engineering, project oversight, and global manufacturing assistance. Their client portfolio includes major petroleum and gas corporations alongside premier EPC contracting firms.

The Opportunity

Our client is expanding their North American operations and seeks a Senior Project Manager for their growing Houston location. The successful candidate will oversee sophisticated EPC initiatives from initiation to delivery, collaborating with state-of-the-art cryogenic technologies while developing partnerships with industry-leading customers.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Planning

  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Establish project vision, goals, and success criteria with clients and project teams
  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans and detailed budgets
  • Ensure proper billing and payment collection per contract terms

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Establish positive collaborative relationships with clients and suppliers/subcontractors
  • Build and manage project organizations with clear responsibilities and communication channels
  • Manage contract changes and subcontractor claims
  • Secure qualified resources throughout project duration

Quality & Compliance

  • Implement real-time project KPI monitoring systems
  • Champion HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) values and safety culture
  • Ensure contract specifications and applicable codes/standards are met
  • Manage risks and opportunities effectively throughout project lifecycle

Communication & Reporting

  • Apply lessons learned from previous projects
  • Provide accurate, timely project status reporting to clients and management
  • Prepare comprehensive project close-out documentation

Work Environment

  • Location: Houston, Texas (office-based role)
  • Travel: Regular travel expected to supplier facilities, project sites, and European headquarters
  • Reporting Structure: Direct reporting to Project Director in Houston; matrix reporting to Projects & Operations Director in Europe
  • Team Environment: Join a compact, expanding team with substantial growth initiatives planned

Education & Professional Background

  • Ability to manage complex, multi-year projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Engineering degree required
  • Minimum 10 years of proven success as Project Manager/Leader on EPC initiatives (contractor perspective)
  • Passion for technical innovation and continuous learning
  • Extensive oil & gas industry background, ideally including pipeline projects

Technical Competencies

  • Proven project management and subcontractor management capabilities
  • Strong technical agility and curiosity
  • Team and organizational management experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of pipeline EPC project risks (engineering/fabrication/construction)
  • Expertise in oil & gas technical standards, including QHSE specificities

  • Base Salary: $180,000+ (commensurate with experience)
  • Performance-based annual bonus program
