Juniper Square offers employees a variety of ways to work, ranging from a fully remote experience to working full-time in one of our physical offices. As a key member of the Juniper Square team, you will play a critical role in supporting one of our largest private equity clients by leading the valuation support for client engagements. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and execute the valuation process for assigned funds, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with industry best practices.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the client’s organization—including the Deal Team, Accounting, Investor Services, Compliance, and Fund Administration—to drive valuation-related initiatives both at the client and Juniper Square. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to various facets of the private equity ecosystem, while maintaining a core focus on valuations.
You’ll bring analytical rigor, a strong understanding of private equity structures, and excellent communication skills to help deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Serve as the primary liaison for client on all valuation matters.
Oversee and execute the end-to-end valuation process, including deliverable tracking, presentation, and model reviews, and manage ad-hoc requests.
Advise deal teams on valuation model development, ensuring adherence to client policy and external reporting standards.
Facilitate the onboarding of new client portfolio investments by establishing robust data collection for valuation.
Support client deal teams in preparing documentation for financial and comparable company assumptions in valuation models.
Critically assess the client’s assumptions underpinning income, market, and other valuation approaches.
Coordinate and assist with client’s annual audits and interim reviews.
Champion improvements in valuation and reporting processes, procedures, and technology.
Develop and refine presentation materials to effectively communicate client’s valuation results to client’s internal stakeholders as well as client’s external stakeholders.
Lead discussions and cultivate client relationships with diverse stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery of information.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar discipline (CFA and/or CPA a plus)
5 - 10 years of valuation experience. Private Equity and Real estate valuation experience, transaction services, financial planning and analysis, corporate development, consulting, data analytic or private company valuation experience are a plus. Big 4 valuation practice experience is a plus.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment that requires execution of deliverables, projects and initiatives on a timely basis in support of a rapidly growing business
Thorough understanding of ASC 820 and corresponding valuation guidance. Familiarity with a wide range of valuation approaches (e.g. Income, Market, OPM, Contingent Claims analysis, etc.)
Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to confidently handle a wide range of daily interactions with sophisticated investors and professionals at all levels
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Confidence presenting to large groups of senior-level individuals
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is required, advanced data analytical and data visualization skills are a plus.
Experience in developing, reviewing and implementing various valuation models.
Perform market and economic research for portfolio companies, industries and countries
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines and maintaining attention to detail
Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
Working knowledge of Dynamo is an advantage.
Compensation for this position includes a base salary, bonus, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $170,000 USD. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
