Job Description:

EHS Digital & Process Transformation Lead

Huntsman is seeking a EHS Digital & Process Transformation Lead supporting the EHS Global Product EHS Americas Division located in The Woodlands, Texas . This position will report to the EHS Global Leadership Team.

Job Scope

The Director, EHS Digital & Process Transformation Lead is responsible for providing strategic direction, execution oversight, and data integration design across all EHS systems with the objective of driving digital and process transformation that aligns with Huntsman strategy and the advancement in ways of working. This role will drive the digital transformation and unification of systems such as SAP EHS, Cority, KMS, and GEARS, and play a pivotal role in establishing a comprehensive Business Process Ownership (BPO) framework throughout the PSRC domain. The Director will set the overall transformation vision and will ensure enterprise-wide data integration, while the day-to-day operational management of SAP EHS will remain under the stewardship of the current Regulatory and Data Management (RDMT) manager. This collaborative matrix structure leverages the RDMT manager’s specialized expertise, while enabling the Director to focus on strategic digital and process transformation, process ownership, and continuous improvement across the EHS organization.

In summary, as the EHS Digital & Process Transformation Lead , you will:  

Strategic Leadership & Transformation:

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for EHS digital transformation to include data system integration.
  • Design and lead EHS initiatives in applied technology, to include automation projects, data integration, data analytics, and application of AI advancements to enhance process performance, system efficiency, data quality, and data as an asset.
  • Oversee clean-up and enhancement projects in the SAP EHS system to ensure accurate and reliable data for decision making and in preparation for future AI programs and regulatory reporting requirements (ESG…).

System Integration & Oversight:

  • Maintain overall accountability for EHS data systems—including SAP EHS, Cority, KMS, and GEARS—and ensure seamless integration across platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability Director to oversee data initiatives and align EHS data with broader sustainability metrics to include end to end data requirements (both internal and external data sets) required to meet regulatory requirements and support the decision-making process.
  • Drive efforts to consolidate and streamline data systems, including planning and managing the project to migrate EHS functions from KMS and GEARS to Cority.
  • Working with other Huntsman groups, such as Global IT, manage relevant vendor partnerships working with the EHS team to achieve the group’s strategic roadmap

Process Ownership, Improvement, & Portfolio Management:

  • Develop and implement a framework for identifying and establishing business process owners across the PSRC domain, ensuring robust process governance, operational excellence, and associated data accuracy.
  • Champion the creation of key processes that improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and overall business performance.
  • Work closely with the Continuous Improvement (CI) program, to include taking a portfolio management approach with the CI initiatives across EHS.
  • Utilize best practices in program management, portfolio management, and PMO to manage transformation projects from concept to execution.

Collaborative & Matrix Reporting:

  • Serve as the central liaison across EHS, Sustainability, IT, and broader business functions to ensure cohesive strategy execution.
  • Maintain a dotted-line relationship with the current regulatory and data management manager (responsible for SAP EHS), who will continue to report directly to their current leader while aligning with the broader strategic direction.
  • Oversee data personnel within the Sustainability team, who will continue to report directly to the Sustainability Director but maintain a dotted-line reporting relationship for collaborative data initiatives.

Team Leadership & Delegation:

  • Set strategic priorities and delegate operational responsibilities to experienced managers and team leads, ensuring the director remains focused on transformation and strategic oversight.
  • Define clear objectives for the first six months, focusing on strategic planning, integration, and initial process ownership framework development.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
 
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Significant experience in digital transformation, data management, and project/program management within an EHS or similarly regulated environment.

Skills and knowledge

  •  Proven expertise with SAP EHS systems and familiarity with sustainability platforms such as Cority, KMS, and GEARS.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing business process ownership frameworks and driving transformation initiatives across people, process, and technology.
  • Strong analytical skills and a results-driven mindset with a history of successfully designing, selling, and executing large-scale transformation projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A transformational leader who embraces digital and business process change.
  • Technologically savvy, with a deep understanding of applied technology and integration strategies.
  • A seasoned program manager capable of managing complex portfolios and pipelines involving multiple teams and team members.
  • Collaborative, with the ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution while preserving existing team dynamics.

Working Environment

Reporting Structure:

  • This position is a member of the PSRC leadership team.
  • The Director will have overall accountability for all EHS data systems, transformation programs, and process integration initiatives.
  • The current regulatory and data management manager (RDMT) (responsible for SAP EHS) will continue in their existing role with a dotted-line relationship for strategic alignment.
  • Data personnel within the Sustainability team will maintain direct reporting to the Sustainability Director while establishing a dotted-line reporting relationship for data integration initiatives.
