Position Summary

The Content and Public Relations Manager is a vital role that will have a strong presence in the Communication and Marketing Department by building and maintaining a positive image for Hennepin Arts. This role will be responsible for managing social media accounts, supporting public relations and media outreach, providing input and expertise on strategic PR initiatives.


Responsibilities

 Social Media (60%)

  • Create, curate, and manage engaging content across various social media platforms
  • Connect with the community through various channels to build relationships and promote the organization’s mission and values; interact and respond to followers and comments
  • Maintain a consistent brand image and voice across all social media platforms
  • Attend a variety of Hennepin Arts events to gather content

Public Relations (30%)

  • Develop compelling pitches that include writing and editing press releases, media advisories, and other content for distribution to media outlets
  • Execute PR campaigns, including media outreach; monitor and analyze campaign performance, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results
  • Develop and implement an integrated PR strategy that includes traditional and digital media, focusing on storytelling to highlight the organization's impact on the community and the arts sector; collaborate with team on strategy based on focus for the organization
  • Support market research, including identifying new target audiences
  • Track and report data related to social media and earned media value

Team Leadership (10%)

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and professional development within the marketing and communications team, incorporating best practices, emerging trends, and innovative PR techniques

Requirements


 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years’ experience with marketing, social media, public relations, and communications, preferably in the arts or non-profit sector
  • Proficient in using all social media applications and social media data collection programs
  • Creative! Ability to develop innovative and engaging content and ideas
  • Excellent professional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated detail oriented, reliable, and excellent follow-through
  • Ability to self-direct and problem solve
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners to achieve organizational goals

Physical Requirements

  • Due to the nature of our work, employees may be required to work non-traditional business hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time while navigating multiple levels and areas within a venue
