Associate Category Manager - Food Service

Overview

As an Assistant Category Manager, you will spend your day working with the Category Manager to develop and execute strategies that maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. If you have a passion for food and business strategy, this fully remote position offers you the opportunity to collaborate, communicate, analyze, and negotiate in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. 

  • Salary range: $53K - $68k per year

 

Responsibilities

• Analyze market trends and industry practices to identify opportunities in sales, units, and margin including new ideas to the team• Collaborate daily with vendors and internal teams to create marketing campaigns, manage promotional budgets, and product selection• Develop reports and presentations complete with actionable recommendations• Learn best practices around Category Management Techniques and Fundamentals• Analyze promotions and pricing and coordinate display activities• Provide support with negotiations, item assortment, merchandising, promotions, terms and any other initiative• Assist with sales forecast and pricing product according to guidelines and competitive environment• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to create best in class planograms to fit various store layouts and product categories to achieve sales goals.

All other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field preferred• Process oriented with the ability to think both strategically and tactically with strong attention to detail• Must be both creative and have strong analytical skills• Must have strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management and the ability to always meet deadlines• Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite - Proficient Excel skills are a requirement (advance formulas, pivot tables, etc.)• Exemplary written and oral communication skills• Flexible schedule• Some travel may be required
