Product Manager II, Generative AI, Silicon

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience with hardware, accelerators, or mobile machine learning software development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 5 years of experience defining and launching silicon products for consumer hardware.
  • Experience with software applications and development life-cycles for ML solutions.
  • Experience in Machine Learning, Generative AI, Semiconductors, Electronics, SoC design or architecture, or Consumer Electronics.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills to lead initiatives with key stakeholders and executive management.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

The team builds Google Tensor system-on-chip (SoC) that powers Pixel devices. Tensor makes transformative user experiences possible with the help of ML running on the Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) ML accelerator. The team's goal is to productize the Generative AI innovations and research by delivering computing hardware and software.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with research, first party devices, and apps partners to develop knowledge of capabilities and roadmaps.
  • Work cross-functionally to prefetch research learnings and build multi-year custom silicon and prefetch roadmaps.
  • Perform analysis for the models, experiences and SoCs and develop knowledge.
  • Define and lead workstreams to make the Tensor ML platform a clear choice for innovation and on-device deployment.
  • Drive internal stakeholder and partner engagements necessary for the on-time launch of the product features.
